Azerbaijan`s Deputy Foreign Minister attends MEDays forum in Morocco
Baku, November 19 (AZERTAC). Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Araz Azimov attended the MEDays Forum in Tangier, Morocco.
The three-day Forum themed around “The South in global governance” is organized by the Amadeus Institute.
Azerbaijan`s Ambassador to Morocco Sabir Agabayov also participated in the event.
Azerbaijani Deputy FM made report on reforming the UN Security Council.
The event has gathered Ministers, politicians, economists, experts.
The Forum saw debates on “What leeway do emerging countries have in climate discussions?”, “Nuclear energy: Is Fukushima the end of a paradigm?”, “Carbon finance: What assessment in the North, which perspectives in the South?”, “Agriculture: What framework to support Africa`s `green revolution`?”, “Armed violence and development: Which impacts and solutions for Middle Eastern and North African countries?”, “Youth, Internet and the Media: New checks and balances for Southern countries?”, “Innovation and capital investment: how to increase the resources dedicated to R&D?”, “NATO`s New Strategic Concept and the Mediterranean dialogue: What framework for North-South cooperation?”, and others.
Amadeus Institute holds an international forum annually. The 2008 MEDays edition, “The Southern Forum for a New Mediterranean” was held on November26-28. The second meeting was held under the theme “Responsible co-development”. Last year Institute organized the event to discuss the South: between Crisis and Emergence.
