Azeri Premier attends inauguration of newly-elected Kyrgyz President
Bishkek, December 2 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s Prime Minister Artur Rasizade has attended a swearing-in ceremony ofKyrgyz President-elect Almazbek Atambayev.
Atambayev, 55, who has served as the country’s prime minister, overwhelmingly won the October 30 presidential elections with 62 percent of the vote.
In line with the country’s new constitution drawn up following Bakiyev’s ouster, the president in elected for one six-year term.
More than 30 high-ranking foreign officials attended Atambayev's inauguration ceremony.
Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Georgian leader Mikheil Saakashvili, as well as the Kazakh and Tajik prime ministers took part in the ceremony. Head of Russia’s Customs Service Andrei Belyaninov, head of department of the government staff Sergei Vinokurov, and by Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin. International organizations are represented by Secretary General of the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) Tair Mansurov, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Sergei Lebedev, and Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Nikolai Bordyuzha were also among the guests.
