Baku hosts photo exhibition and presentation of "Active Cultures" association
Baku, March 6 (AZERTAC). German-Azerbaijani Cultural Society Kapellhaus hosted a photo exhibition and presentation of the association "Active Cultures".
The exhibition features pictures of German photo artists Helen Pagel, Harold Shutig, Matthias Schumann, as well as Georgian photographer Giorgi Dadiani.
The association "Active Cultures" was founded in 2002 in Germany to promote the local urban culture in the Neustadt district of Dresden. The association operates in more than 15 countries. Each year, members of the association carry out several major projects, as well as 30 individual events with more than 100,000 participants and visitors worldwide.
In Baku, the project is carried out on the initiative and with the support of the Goethe Institute. Association members have been working in the Caucasus for 5 years as part of the big project called "Transcaucasia." The project is dedicated to the contemporary art of the South Caucasus. It has been displayed in several European countries, and carried out with the aim of mutual cultural exchange.
