“BRIDGE OF FRIENDSHIP” BETWEEN TAJIKISTAN AND AFGHANISTAN ERECTED
Agreement on construction of bridge via the Panj River of Tajik-Afghan border was signed by the Minister of Transport of Tajikistan Abduljalal Salimov and Ambassador of the US to this country Richard Houglend, information department of Foreign Affairs Ministry of Tajikistan reports.
Chairman of the department Igor Sattarov stated that Tajik side pays important significance to construction of the “Bridge of friendship”. The bridge not only connects Tajikistan and Afghanistan, but also provides active cooperation between the two neighboring states.
Government of the United States has allocated 12 mln dollars for construction of the bridge.
“Transport corridor” with length over 600 m will be built at Nijni Panj settlement.
