Baku, October 9 (AZERTAC). Many who think a baby does not understand anything. But studies show that the ability to distinguish between right and wrong has been owned since the age of 15 months.
The researchers said that babies in this study have a good understanding of what is just and unjust as in sharing food with others. This suggests a beginning awareness of justice so that it can distinguish between right and wrong.
“Our findings show that the norms of justice more quickly obtained than we thought, as babies are more sensitive to the distribution of food or toys that are not fair,” said Jessica Sommerville, a professor of psychology at the University of Washington, as quoted from Dailymail, Saturday (08/10/2011).
The study results are published in the journal PLoS ONE this short video shows two 15-month-old baby. Infants are known to spend a lot of time to see how the distribution of a makann and see if there was someone who earn more than others.
“Baby expect equal and fair distribution of food, and they will be surprised if you see one person get a biscuit or more milk than others,” said Sommerville.
Sommerville said the baby likely to see some measure of justice and injustice by observing how people treat each other. Baby will be surprised if he see any differences in the distribution.
“The experimental results demonstrate an understanding of justice and one really has existed since early. They are willing to share with others and will be really sensitive to such violations of justice,” he said.
