DAY OF AZERBAIJANIS` GENOCIDE, 31 MARCH, COMMEMORATED ABROAD
Baku, March 31 (AZERTAC). A commemorative event to mark 31 March - Day of genocide of Azerbaijanis was held in the embassy of Azerbaijan in Turkmenistan.
Speaking at the event, ambassador Vahdat Sultanzade said the genocide committed by Armenians against Azerbaijanis in 1918 was one of the tragic pages of Azerbaijan`s history.
He noted over the last 200 years more than one million Azerbaijanis were brutally killed by Armenians.
The diplomat underlined after national leader Heydar Aliyev came to power again he gave legal and political assessment to the events.
The event participants were handed over materials sent by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Foreign Ministry featuring savageries against the Azerbaijani people.

Another event to commemorate the 92nd anniversary of the March genocide was held in the Netherlands.
Attending the event, ambassador Fuad Isgandarov briefed the participants on the tragic events happened on 31 March, 1918.
He pointed out in accordance with the order signed by national leader Heydar Aliyev, every year 31 March is marked as the day of genocide of Azerbaijanis.
The event participants also saw a documentary on the genocides committed by Armenians against Azerbaijanis.

An event to mark the March tragedy was arranged by the Azerbaijani Society in Dubai.
The event participants saw a documentary featuring genocides committed by the Armenian terrorists against the Azerbaijani, Turkish and other peoples.
Chairman of the Society Samir Imanov said Armenia must honor the resolutions adopted by the UN on unconditional withdrawal of the armed forces from the occupied territories.
Other speakers described the March events as a savagery against the humanity.
The event participants were handed over books, CDs and brochures on the tragedy.
