European media outlets highlight Geneva-hosted conference on challenges of landmines in Azerbaijan

British, German and other European media outlets have published articles highlighting the “The path to eradicate landmines in Azerbaijan: an international challenge” conference held in Geneva, Switzerland, on April 4, 2022.
The articles, headlined “Geneva hosts event on removing landmines in Azerbaijan”, “Swiss conference addresses the international challenges of landmines in Azerbaijan” and others mentioned that the event was organized by the “UN-accredited International Institute for Right & Development (IRDG) with the purpose of raising mine awareness and getting improvements in the areas of eradication of the landmines.
According to the articles, the IRDG has expressed its deep concern about the danger posed to the population by the explosive remnants of war in the territory of Azerbaijan.
The articles also quoted IRDG Secretary Richard Bellity, Director General of Global Institute for Water, Environment and Health (GIWEH) Nidal Salim, Executive Director of Youth Parliament for Sustainable Development Goals (YPSDG) Noah Curry as saying that although they have witnessed the large-scale restoration and reconstruction works underway in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, as well as despite the resources allocated by the country for the demining of the Karabakh region, the international community should also support Azerbaijan for its effective solution for the mining problem.
