GEORGIA TO REPAY ENERGY DEBTS OF AZERBAIJAN
For repayment of the energy debts, Georgia has resumed the process of energy flow to Azerbaijan. According to “Azerenergy” SC press-service, the Georgian side has already transmitted over 10 million kwh of energy to the energy system of Azerbaijan. Acquaintance is in progress. The Georgian side is expected to clear off their debts in full. The agreement was reached in the course of the visit of Minister of Fuel and Energy of Georgia David Mirtskhulava. The process of systematic repayment according to the worked-out schedule commenced on 14 June and suspended in October last year. In this way, volume of overflow exceeded 100 million kwh. The rest was supposed to return in summer 2003, because of the energy shortage in Georgia in winter.
