Joint meeting of RCC administrations’ heads and CIS Coordination Council for Informatization kicks off in Baku
Baku, November 6 (AZERTAC). The joint 47th meeting of the Council of Heads of Administrations of the Regional Commonwealth of Communications (RCC) and the 18th meeting of the Coordination Council of the CIS member states for Informatization has begun in Baku today.
At the opening ceremony of the event, Deputy Prime Minister Abid Sharifov of Azerbaijan has informed that within the context of socio-economic development the country observes rapid development of the ICT sector.
"In Azerbaijan there are 65 Internet users, 30 users of broadband Internet, 110 mobile subscribers per every 100 people, and a range of telecommunication projects of international level is under realization. One of the important projects for Azerbaijan is the one on launch of the first national telecommunications satellite Azerspace. Its launch is scheduled for early February 2013," he emphasized.
As sated, the project will contribute to the development of cooperation with international organizations.
