KCA DEUTAG AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS TO AZERBAIJAN OIL ACADEMY STUDENTS
The 2006/2007 KCA DEUTAG scholars are Fuad Ramazanov and Elvin Dostaliyev (Drilling Engineering), Emil Askerov and Orkhan Askerzadeh (Mechanical Engineering Faculty), and Majid Samadov and Yashar Abbas (Electrical Engineering).
Neil McCleary, Operations PUL, BP Azerbaijan, presented the scholarship awards, with Brian Taylor, KCA DEUTAG Director UK, Norway, Caspian and Sakhalin.
Speaking at the award-giving ceremony Brian Taylor said: “KCA DEUTAG is currently recruiting a large number of Azerbaijani nationals and the Scholarship program is the company’s foundation stone for recruiting and training high quality, motivated graduates who will in time assume senior positions in Azerbaijan within our engineering and operations groups.”
“This is the ninth award of the annual KCA DEUTAG Scholarship Program, which includes a monthly allowance to assist the students to complete their studies and the provision of British Council English language training.
KCA Deutag currently employs over 350 Azerbaijani staff and this number will rise to 400 by 2008. Three of the 2005/2006 KCA DEUTAG Scholarship students have recently returned from a trip to Aberdeen where they visited KCA DEUTAG facilities and obtained the necessary information to assist them in completing their degree theses.
