Moscow, November 11 (AZERTAC). “We believe that the Baku magazine in English will also be successful,” said the magazine`s editor-in-chief, vice president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, chairwoman of the Azerbaijan youth organization of Russia Leyla Aliyeva.

She spoke to a news conference on the launch of the magazine`s English version in Russian capital of Moscow.

Aliyeva noted the Russian version of the magazine has been issued for already four years. She said at that time there was an intention to release an international version of the magazine.

“The first edition of the English version of the magazine has already been released. It was not easy. The work took 4 years to conduct. The English-language version of the magazine is not a repetition of the Russian version, that is it is not a translation. If it was a translation, it would have been easier. We believe the English version will also be successful.”

Aliyeva said the presentation ceremony of the English version of the magazine would be held in a number of cities, including New York, Berlin, Rome and Paris.

“The Russian version of the magazine is published in Estonia, the English version at Condé Nast, London,” she said.

Aliyeva said they were cooperating with the world-famous designers, artists and photographers.

“The goal of the magazine is not only to inform the English-speaking readers about the ancient culture, rich history, beautiful and wise customs of the ancient Land of Fire, but also to inform them about the modern lifestyle of the Azerbaijanis. The Baku magazine will help the world to rediscover Azerbaijan and its capital, find out the most secret and good features of its people,” she said.

Aliyeva said the March issue would be dedicated to the Eurovision Song Contest that would be held in Baku. According to her, the foreigners, who will come to watch the contest, will be able to get familiarized with Azerbaijan through this magazine.

Deputy chief of ITAR-TASS news agency Mikhail Gusman said the Russian version of the Baku magazine has “already found its readers”.

“I am sure the English version of the magazine will also be a success.”
