On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev, the founder of the independent state of Azerbaijan, outstanding political and public figure, AZERTAC highlights the chronology of the thorny and glorious path traveled by the Great Leader of the Azerbaijani people, his unique political and public activities, and his life given to the people.

25 March. First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev attended the 3rd Congress of Cinematographers.

5 April. He held official meeting regarding the state of spring field works.

7 May. He delivered a speech at the solemn ceremony dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Victory over fascism.

30 July. He made a speech at the plenary session of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan.

11-12 August. He visited Barda and Imishli districts.

16 August. He visited Tovuz district.

20 August. He viewed the construction progress of hydraulic structure over the Kura River.

28 August. He made a speech at the meeting with students enrolled into the higher educational institutions of the USSR.

2 October. He made a speech at the opening of the solemn ceremony dedicated to the Days of Soviet literature in Azerbaijan.

4 October. He attended the opening ceremony of the House-Museum of Sergei Yesenin in Mardakan settlement.

6 October. He attended the opening ceremony of the House-Museum of Samad Vurgun.

13 October. He made a speech at the regional meeting of heads of cotton-growing districts.

27 October. He met with the representatives of Japanese companies involved in the construction of the household air-conditioners manufacturing plant in Baku.

31 October. He made a speech at the plenary session of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan.

20 November. He made a speech at the opening ceremony of the House-Museum of Uzeyir Hajibayov.

28 November. He attended the solemn ceremony dedicated to the 90th anniversary of birth of Uzeyir Hajibayov in Moscow.

13 December. He attended the event dedicated to the 90th anniversary of birth of Muslum Magomayev.

23 December. He delivered a speech at the All-Union Scientific Conference in Baku.

25 December. He made a speech at the meeting dedicated to the opening of the household air conditioners plant in Baku.

On 29 September, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an Order to declare 2023 as a “Year of Heydar Aliyev” in the country. 10 May 2023 will mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev, the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, the founder of the independent state of Azerbaijan, and an outstanding politician and statesman.
