Nagorno-Karabakh conflict can be resolved only by political will of all sides
Baku, December 7 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan continues to work towards the creation of a stable economic and safe environment in the South Caucasus, the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said in the article titled "Making a lasting peace," published in «The Wall Street Journal» newspaper.
"We do not accept the territorial division of Azerbaijan. Our territorial integrity must be respected under international law," said the Azerbaijani diplomat.
The minister emphasized that in 1993 the United Nations Security Council endorsed four relevant resolutions calling for the immediate, complete and unconditional withdrawal of Armenian troops from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
"The withdrawal of the Armenian troops must be comprehensive, and it must happen now", according to the article.
Mammadyarov stressed that without these two conditions, the Azerbaijani side is rather flexible and is ready to support any plan for the peace process. "We can resolve the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh only by the political will of all sides", said Mammadyarov, adding that Azerbaijan has the will to settle this problem.
The Minister stressed that Azerbaijan supports the immediate settlement of the conflict. "We continue to work towards creating a stable economic and safe environment in our region", the article says.
