Photographs of Azerbaijan shown in the heart of Brussels’ business district
Baku, July 12 (AZERTAC). After its successes in London, Paris, Berlin and at the European Parliament in Brussels, a private view of the Azerbaijan Through the Lens photography exhibition was held on 9 July at the prestigious Tour & Taxis Business Centre in Brussels, organised by The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS). The audience included Members of the Belgian Federal Parliament and the Belgian Senate.
Exhibited during the course of two weeks, the exhibition comprises 82 magnificent photographs and aims to take the visitor on a virtual journey to Azerbaijan, focusing on contemporary people, culture, landscapes and architecture.
After already having been viewed by more than 1,500 visitors to the European Parliament, the private view took place at the Royal Depot. During her opening speech, Belgian Senator Dominique Tilmans said: “The beauty of Azerbaijan is so well-represented through this photography exhibition. It is certainly justifiable that Azerbaijan Through The Lens is being shown in one of the most popular business venues in the Belgian capital. I would like to thank TEAS for having imported a little of the spirit of Azerbaijan to Belgium.”
Roman Huna, Head, TEAS Brussels, stated: “Azerbaijan deserves more attention from Belgium and the European Union. I am convinced that when Azerbaijan and Belgium invest in a more profound relationship, comprising mutual trade, economic, political and cultural exchange, there will be a more profitable environment for both countries.” After Brussels, the exhibition will continue its European tour.
