President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on 28 October has received ambassador of Turkey to Azerbaijan Ahmad Unal Chevigez on ending his diplomatic mission in the country.

Greeting the ambassador, the Head of State on behalf of himself and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan congratulated Mr. Chevigz, the friendly and fraternal people of Turkey on the occasion of the national holiday of Turkey - Day of Republic.

President Ilham Aliyev gave high value to activity of the Ambassador during in his diplomatic tenure for contributions to the cause of strengthening of relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey. Head of Azerbaijan State noted that in the passed years the relations between two countries have much more strengthened, the links in socio-economic and other fields have intensively developed.

Speaking of the large energy projects being realized by Azerbaijan and Turkey, President Ilham Aliyev said these projects are significant not only for Azerbaijan, but also for the region and the whole world.

Assessing the Azerbaijani-Turkish bilateral relations as nice example, President of Azerbaijan underlined that the two countries being “one nation, two states”, would and henceforth develop, and support each other. Azerbaijan adheres this policy, he stressed.

Recalling his last visit to Turkey, the president noted that the negotiations and meetings carried out during the said visit once again demonstrated the high level of bilateral relations between the two peoples.

President Ilham Aliyev highly appraised activity of ambassador Ahmad Unal Chevigez in the Country and wished success in his further work.

Ambassador of Turkey expressed gratitude, saying that he would with great pleasure remember his diplomatic work in Azerbaijan. He said he had made every possible effort to strengthen the bilateral links between two countries. The relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan are important not only for the region, but also for the international relations on world level, the Ambassador underscored.

Mr. Chevigez stated that unbreakable ties connect the two nations. Constantly developing the fraternal links, the two countries had supported each other in all questions, and will further back each other, he stressed. He expressed gratitude to the national leader of Azerbaijan people Heydar Aliyev for care and attention he was shown during his diplomatic activity in Azerbaijan.

The Ambassador thanked the President of Azerbaijan and the people of Azerbaijan for rendered assistance and conditions created for him, stating he would take a part of Azerbaijan in his heart and leave a part of his heart in Azerbaijan.
