Parviz Shahbazov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy, met with Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar on the sidelines of the 5th Azerbaijan-Türkiye Energy Forum.
The meeting highlighted that the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, based on a shared history, common national roots and brotherhood, has in recent years been elevated to the level of an alliance, giving new impetus to energy cooperation as well. The sides emphasized the crucial role of joint energy projects in ensuring the energy security of both countries and the region. They reviewed the current status of issues on the bilateral and regional energy agenda.
The 5th Azerbaijan-Türkiye Energy Forum was described as a pivotal platform contributing to the continuous development of the energy partnership and opening up new areas of cooperation.
The sides also exchanged views on Azerbaijan’s readiness to support Türkiye in hosting COP31 in November.
