A delegation of Azerbaijan’s National Hydrometeorological Service represented Azerbaijan at the 37th Session of the CIS Interstate Council for Hydrometeorology, held in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The session included information on reforms in Azerbaijan’s hydrometeorology sector, the modernization of the observation network, the development of the Early Warning System, and efforts to enhance international cooperation.
The event was attended by heads of the hydrometeorological services of CIS countries and representatives of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). Discussions focused on harmonizing hydrometeorological observations, standardizing data exchange, strengthening regional cooperation, and applying modern technologies.
The decisions to be adopted at the conclusion of the event are expected to contribute to strengthening hydrometeorological security in the CIS region and improving the management of climate change-related risks.
