A Turkish delegation led by Director General of the Turkish National Police Ali Fıdan Ali Fidan arrived in Azerbaijan to participate in the 9th working meeting on police cooperation between the Interior Ministries of Azerbaijan and Türkiye to be held in Baku.
Ali Fidan and his accompanying delegation visited the Alley of Honor to pay tribute to the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. They paid respect to prominent ophthalmologist-scientist, Academician Zarifa Aliyeva, and flowers were laid at her grave.
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Colonel General Vilayat Eyvazov, met with Ali Fidan and his delegation.
Praising the high level of relations between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan and Türkiye, the Minister emphasized the importance of further expanding interaction and developing joint activities between the law enforcement bodies of the two brotherly countries. He expressed confidence that the working meetings held within the framework of police cooperation would make significant contributions to the exchange of experience and enhance the efficiency of practical operations.
Ali Fidan expressed gratitude for the reception and hospitality. Highly valuing the effectiveness of cooperation between the relevant agencies of both countries, he noted the importance of joint efforts to combat global threats, including various types of crime.
Ambassador of Türkiye to Azerbaijan Birol Akgün also attended the meeting.
