First deputy chairman of Azerbaijan`s Parliament meets with head of Russian Central Election Commission in Moscow

First deputy chairman of Azerbaijan`s Parliament Ziyafat Asgarov, who is a leading an Azerbaijani delegation to Moscow to monitor the presidential election, has met with head of the Russian Central Election Commission Ella Pamfilova.
Deputy Secretary General of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (CIS PA), authorized representative of the Milli Majlis in the CIS PA Aydin Jafarov and MP Rauf Aliyev also attended the meeting.
Following the meeting Asgarov told journalists that he was appointed as a coordinator of the observation group of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly by chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko.
"Our expert group has drafted a document in accordance with the Constitution of the Russian Federation and the Election Code of the country,which was developed by the well-known CIS experts. The observation group consists of two missions, one short-term and another long-term. We have 19 observers in the long-term mission, which has already begun operating, and about 40 observers in the short-term missions. Our long term-observers are functioning in various regions of the Russian Federation. Whereas, during the elections the short-term observers will carry out their observation missions in the cities and districts," Asgarov said.
He noted that the key task of the observation mission is to monitor the transparency and the conduct of the presidential election.
“All the CIS member states have already received invitations from the Russian State Duma to participate in the observation process during the presidential election. We hope that they will take part in the observation mission," he said.
