On the Decree of the President of the Turkmenistan Saparmurad Niyazov, 15 thousand medical employees have been fired.
As was informed by AzerTAj correspondent, the soldiers conscripted to the army will work in their stead. At words of S. Niyazov, this was done to reduce expenditures for public health.
Reduction of staff is being carried out in all fields of public health. However, first were reduced midwives, hospital attendants, school nurses and nurses. That means that majority of the reduced will be the women.
S. Niyazov stated that reduction is a part of reforms in the public health system. In the coming years, all the system will be privatized, and the Turkmens instead of free service will get for medical insurance.
Two years ago, in Turkmenistan were fired staff members of road police, and now the conscripts do this work.
