Azerbaijani weightlifter shatters two records at world youth championship

Azerbaijani weightlifter Ravin Almammadov (73 kg weight class) has snatched two silver medals in snatch (136 kg) and clean&jerk (167 kg) lifts at the 2023 IWF World Youth Championships Durres, which gathered 322 athletes from over 60 countries.
Almammadov shattered Turkish Karaca Yasar’s 163 kg clean and jerk European record. He also broke Romanian Donose Ionut’s total 300 kg lift record.
With a total lift of 303 kg (136+167), Almammadov ranked second in the final table.
