3rd World Nomad Games get underway in Kyrgyzstan

Baku, September 3, AZERTAC 

The 3rd World Nomad Games have kicked off in the village of Baktuu-Dolonotu on the bank of Issyk-Kul lake in Kyrgyzstan.

Participants in the opening ceremony included President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Jeenbekov, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov and Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban.

Addressing the ceremony, Kyrgyz President Sooronbai Jeenbekov said the first World Nomad Games were held in 2014 and the second in 2016. He said the third World Nomad Games feature nearly 3,000 athletes from more than 60 countries who will compete in 37 ethnic sports.

Sooronbai Jeenbekov said the 4th World Nomad Games will be hosted by Turkey.

The opening ceremony featured a horse race and a concert.
