7th Meeting of Turkic Council Working Group on Cooperation in Media and Information sphere held in Baku

The 7th Meeting of the Working Group on Cooperation in Media and Information sphere of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (Turkic Council) has been held in Baku. On May 7, the Ministers and High Officials in charge of Information and Media of the Turkic Council will convene in the capital of Azerbaijan for their 2nd meeting.
Organized by the National Television and Radio Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the events bring together senior officials of the Turkic Council’s Secretariat, high-ranking officials in media and information sector from the member states, including Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as representatives of national TV channels, AZERTAC, Anadolu, Kazinform, Kabar national news agencies.
The 7th Meeting of the Working Group reviewed the progress of the work done after the 6th meeting of the Council and discussed the development of cooperation in the sphere of media and information among the member states, including making video films and cartoons reflecting the history and culture of the Turkic peoples, and setting up a coherent group made up of representatives of national TV channels.
The meeting participants also exchanged views on the organization of educational courses and exchange programs among the member states, drafting of a protocol on multilateral technical cooperation, establishment of a joint international Turkic channel and other issues.
During the 2nd Meeting of the Ministers and High Officials in charge of Information and Media of the Turkic Council bilateral meetings among the member states will be held, and the issues on the agenda and the results of the working group meeting will be discussed. The meeting will also feature the signing of a protocol on multilateral technical cooperation between the national TV channels of the member states.
