95TH ANNIVERSARY OF ACADEMICIAN MURTUZ NAGIYEV MARKED

A meeting, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the world-famous Azerbaijani chemist, academician, Hero of Socialist Labor Murtuza Nagiyev was held at the Institute of oil-chemical processes of the National Academy of Sciences.

Having dwelt upon the lifetime of the outstanding scientist, NAS president, academician Mahmud Karimov mentioned that M. Nagiyev had devoted all his life to science. During his student’s life, he developed new method of making petrol, which had high antiknock properties. The scientist, who evolved theoretical basics of such spheres as mathematical modeling of chemical technology, oil chemistry and technology, kinetics and thermodynamics of chemical reactions, was bestowed the title of Hero of Social Labor and some state orders.

Then, academician Agadadash Aliyev recounted on the point of his scientific innovation.

Rector of Baku State University, NAS corresponding member Abel Maharramov, academician Fuad Gasimzadeh emphasized the significance of studying of the rich heritage of the scientist.
