ACTIONS OF RADICAL OPPOSITION NEGATIVELY IMPACT GEORGIAN ECONOMY

The negative impact of the protest actions against November 2 parliamentary elections organized by the radical Georgian opposition in the capital and other regions of the country on the Georgian economy now can be distinctly observed. The greatest damage has been caused to export-import, production and purchasing power of the national currency.

Staffs of the Georgian Railroad, Rustavi metallurgical works, Madneuli plant in Bolnisi, Tbillissi metro and many others expressed in an open letter to President Eduard Shevardnadze their regret about the latest developments, and urge the parties to make compromises, and putting national interests on the top of the list, to start searching for ways to overcome the crisis.
