AFFA URGES NATIONAL PRESS TO BE IMPARTIAL
The Azerbaijan Federation of Football Associations (AFFA) has made a statement urging the national press to be impartial.
AFFA reaction followed recent biased news saying that UERO 2008 qualifying round matches between Azerbaijan and Armenia would be held in respectively Baku and Yerevan.
The statement says that the Federation received a reply letter from UEFA Secretary General Lars-Christer Olsson.
AFFA recently sent a letter to Olsson and offered to hold the matches between Azerbaijan and Armenia at the neutral country’s stadium.
UEFA said according to the regulations, at latest within 60 days to the match the football structures of the two countries should inform the Union on the place of it.
UEFA Spokesman William Gaillard announced that the Union would support any place of match if agreed between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
