AFRICAN SWINE FEVER VIRUS PREVENTED IN AZERBAIJAN

State Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan held a press conference Friday on the African swine fever response in Nij village of Gabala region on April 4.

Ismayil Hasanov, head of the State Veterinary Service said quarantine was imposed to prevent the African swine fever virus revealed in pigs in Nij village of Gabala region on January 28, with 4863 pigs killed as part of the measures taken in the village.

According to Ismayil Hasanov the declared quarantine was lifted on March 28 and, the virus does not exist in Azerbaijan any more.
