ARCHAEOLOGISTS EMBARKED ON RESEARCHES

Expedition of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography under National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan is implementing large-scale field researches.

As a result of rise of Kura river level, plenty of ancient delft ware and graves dating back to the last brazen, first iron and next periods have been discovered within the territory between Shamkir-Yenikend HPS and Zeemchay river.

Ancient settlements are situated 500-600 meters away from Kura, around the spring in Nuy valley. The delftware and pitchers dated to late 2- early 1 millennium have been discovered on the hills. Research works will be continuing until September 15.
