On 24 September, Central Electoral Commission held a sitting presided by Mazahir Panahov. Member of the CEC Asaf Aliyev proposed to send customs inquiry for presenting information on the producer, circulation, and cost of the agitation materials delivered from the Republic of Turkey aiming at election campaign, paid state customs dues, and implementation of tax obligations.
Secretary of CEC Vidadi Mahmudov made a statement on execution of the Article 95.2. Central Electoral Commission adopted certain decision.
Then, was made information on the received applications and complaints. They will be sending to Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan Republic to respond appropriately.
Member of CEC I. Mammadov made a statement on the appeal of the representative of ‘Yeni Azerbaijan’ Party A. Aliyev, addressed to the Commission. It is requested to undertake legal measures in regard with presidential candidate I. Gambar for violation of requirement of the Article 58 of the Election Code, presenting CEC fault information on property, on incomes, as well as for hiding means at amount 57 010,4 thousand manat, received from the newspaper ‘Yeni Musavat’, founder of which he is, according to the data of 2002. CEC adopted relevant decision assigning the Control-Revision Commission to prepare the issue for consideration.
Other issues on the agenda were also considered and made appropriate decisions.
Representatives of the International Fond on Election Systems (IFES), ODIHR of OCSE, Council of Europe, National democracy Institute, Embassy of US, local and foreign media organs attended the sitting.
