AZERBAIJANI ATHLETES SUCCEED IN GRAECO-ROMAN WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP AMONG MILITARY MEN

The Graeco-Roman wrestling Championship among military men has finished in Istanbul, Turkey. Azerbaijan was represented by theWorld and European Champs prize-winner Natig Eyvazov (55 kg), Taleh Israfilov (60 kg) and Elbrus Mammadov (66 kg). According to the press-service of the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Tourism, Natig Eyvazov has won silver in under-55 kg weight category having been beaten only in the finals.

In the category under 60 kg, Taleh Israfilov has gained the title of champion defeating in qualifying fights Pasi Huntalu, Finland 4:0 and Tunisian Valid Nefzi 13:0. In the final round, he has beaten Gricas Christos, Greece, Zakarya Al-Nashid, Syria, and Aytulla Ozyurt, Turkey winning gold medal.

Elbrus Mammadov (66 kg) has also defeated all his rivals: Berkadui Gogama, Tunisia 5:1 and Eduard Kratz, Germany 3:1 in qualifying round, and host of the tournament Bayram Ozdemir in the finals
