AZERBAIJANI BODYBUILDERS WIN 2 SILVER AND TWO BRONZE MEDALS
European bodybuilding, classic bodybuilding and mixed pairs championship held on May 6 at the Baku Sport Palace was successful for Azerbaijani athletes.
Azerbaijani bodybuilders won two silver and two bronze medals in the competition.
In the opening ceremony, Rafael Santonja, the President of the International Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, thanked the Azerbaijan government for their support and presented President of Azerbaijan Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation Rauf Bunyadaliyev with special medal.
Azerbaijani athlete Teymur Aslanov (178 cm) earned a bronze medal in the classic bodybuilding competition.
Yalchin Mammadov (70 kg) and Vugar Verdiyev won silver medals while Tahir Fakhruddinov (80 kg) won a bronze in the bodybuilding competition.
Russian athletes Alexander Eskin (70 kg), Igor Losev (80 kg) and Alexander Kodzoyev (85 kg) took first places in the weight categories in which Azerbaijani bodybuilders competed in.
In the team event, Russian athletes won the first spot with 8 gold, 2 silver medals gained.
