Azerbaijani weight lifters gathered March 11 in a training camp at the National Aviation Academy, according to the Azerbaijan Heavy Athletics Federation.

Fifteen athletes joined the trainings led by coaches Afset Afsetov and Solan Kerimov. A month of workouts will allow selecting the best 8 athletes to compete in the European heavy athletics championship to be held in Warsaw from April 26 to May 5.

Coaches see Nizami Pashayev, Afgan Bayramov, Turan Mirzayev, Alan Naniyev, Alibey Samedov and Anar Nazarov as more real candidates to be included in the national team.
