AZERBAIJAN’S MINISTER OF ENERGY AND INDUSTRY MEETS WITH NEWLY APPOINTED AMBASSADOR OF HUNGARY .
Minister of Industry and Energy Natig Aliyev met March 7 with Hungary’s newly appointed ambassador in Azerbaijan Istvan Szabon.
The discussions at the meeting revolved around the cooperation in the oil and gas sector, and Azerbaijan’s active involvement in ensuring the energy security of Europe. Ambassador said Hungary is keen on cooperating with Azerbaijan in the oil and gas sector, and shared his view on the possibility of Azerbaijan’s participation in the Nabucco pipeline project. According to him, official Budapest is going to start active dialogue with Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan on the oil and gas import.
The meeting also focused on Azerbaijan’s industrial potential and participation of Hungarian investors in the economic projects in Azerbaijan.
Minister N. Aliyev pointed out that Azerbaijan is ready for fruitful cooperation with Hungary and there are real possibilities to discuss a number of concrete projects.
I. Szabon invited Azerbaijani Minister to Hungary. He said that official Budapest favors beginning of bilateral discussions on the concrete projects.
It was agreed during the meeting that N. Aliyev would make a visit to Budapest in June.
