AZERBAIJAN COMPATRIOTS IN TURKEY EXPRESSED STRONG PROTEST
According to AzerTAj’s Ankara-based correspondent, a meeting dedicated to presidential elections in Azerbaijan took place in Turkey. Opening the meeting attended by Azerbaijani citizens working and studying in Turkey embassy secretary Mahir Jafarov said that presidential elections in constituencies of Ankara and Istanbul were held in organized, democratic and free atmosphere despite efforts of “Musavat” to stir up disorders at the polling stations, which had been prevented. He noted that Azerbaijanis residing in Turkey took provocative actions of opposition with anger and indignation.
Ambassador Mammad Aliyev, people’s artist of Azerbaijan, professor Sarvar Ganiyev, honored man of arts, film director Aflatun Nematzadeh, candidate of historical sciences Rahila Shukurova, counselor of embassy Latif Gandilov and others considered presidential elections in Azerbaijan as the next successful step aimed at building up the democratic state and stressed that most of Azerbaijanis vote for Ilham Aliyev, the successor of President Heydar Aliyev’s political course. They strongly condemned criminal actions committed by radical opposition and urged law-enforcement bodies to take measures towards the persons who tried to put Azerbaijan into the chaos and anarchy.
