AZERBAIJAN INTENDS TO BECOME NATO MEMBER
Mr. Asgarov, informing the guests in details on relations with world countries and international organizations said that Azerbaijan closely cooperates with NATO. Azerbaijan constantly and actively participates in the events, held in the frameworks of NATO “Partnership for Peace” program, and in the sessions of NATO Parliament Assembly. Azerbaijan integrates into NATO and intends to become a member of this organization. The conduction of NATO PA next Rose-Roth seminar in Baku proves the high level of relations between Azerbaijan and NATO.
Z. Asgarov, dwelling on Nagorno Karabakh conflict, told that OSCE Minsk group deals with its solution. UN Security Council adopted 4 resolution related to the occupation of Azerbaijani lands by Armenia. These resolutions are not fulfilled now, and the reason for it is the lack of indifferent position of the world countries, NATO, and other international organizations towards the aggressor. NATO has a strong army and is able to free Azerbaijani lands, however official Baku adheres peaceful solution of this conflict.
Thanking for the warm welcome, Charge' D'affaires of Polish embassy in Azerbaijan Voyseh Gurechkiy said that the purpose of experts’ visit to Azerbaijan is to get information on level of relations with NATO and on other issues.
Expert of the Center Leshek Sherepka said that the structure, represented by him, is financed by the Government. The key goal of the Center is to study the relations of Eastern countries, particularly CIS countries, with NATO and their integration into the West.
Other issues of mutual importance were discussed as well.
