AZERBAIJAN PRESIDENT’S VISIT TO TURKEY IN FOCUS
PRESIDENT OF AZERBAIJAN ILHAM ALIYEV RECEIVED AMBASSADOR OF TURKEY IN THE COUNTRY
Reminding that in several days he would make his first official visit to Turkey, the Head of State said that the visit would have positive impetus on the developing Turkish-Azerbaijani relations, and expressed confidence that the bilateral relations would acquire higher level. President of Azerbaijan also highly appreciated his past year visit to Turkey in the capacity of Premier of Azerbaijan, reminded that later he managed to have regular telephone talks with the Turkish President Ahmad Necdet Sezer and Prime Minister Rejep Tayyip Erdogan and discuss numerous questions.
Appraising the existent relations between the two countries, President Ilham Aliyev emphasized: “Turkey and Azerbaijan are friendly and fraternal countries, they have been always together and further will be together. Turkey’s accomplishments aspire us and Azerbaijan’s achievements please Turkey. I am rather glad that landmark steps are made in this direction and they will be continued”.
Turkey is curiously waiting for the first visit of Azerbaijan President, ambassador Ahmad Unal Chevigez said. Informing on preparation for the visit, the Turkish diplomat said that on the eve, the cultural links of the two countries have notably sped up.
On 10 April, the state minister of Turkey Bashir Ataly is coming to Baku to take part at the opening of the Ataturk Center. At the same time, leadership of the Elazig province of Turkey is arranging a poetry party, and jazz musicians of Turkey gave concerts in Baku.
“I would once again to commemorate memory of the late President Heydar Aliyev and express my gratitude for adopting the decision on opening of the Ataturk Center”, the Ambassador concluded.
In the course of conversation, also exchanged were the views on a number of issues connected with the visit of Azerbaijan President to Turkey.
