AZERBAIJAN REPRESENTED AT THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE IN ULAN-BATOR

Under the UN aegis, the fifth International conference “New or restored democracies” has taken place in Ulan-Bator, Mongolia. UN Secretary General Kofi Annan’s address was voiced at the conference, attended by 119 countries.
According to the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan was represented by ambassador of Azerbaijan to the People’s Republic of China Yashar Aliyev. Speaking on “Threats and possibilities for democracy”, ambassador updated the participants on the implementation of democratic reforms in Azerbaijan, and democratic society development process, human rights issues, military conflicts impeding democracy development including Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.
The conference was concluded by the adoption of “Ulan-Bator Declaration”
