AZERBAIJAN TEAM TOOK ANOTHER TWO OLYMPIC LICENSES

Azerbaijani boxers Ruslan Khairov /69kg/, and Javid Tagiyev / 75kg/ reached the final and won licenses for Olympic licenses 2004, AzerTAj correspondent learnt from Ministry’s press service.
322 boxers from 42 countries attend the championship. Azerbaijan was represented by 10 sportsmen.
Six sportsmen – Fuad Aslanov / 51kg/, World Champion of 2003 Agasi Mammadov / 54kg/, Rovshan Huseynov / 60kg/, Ruslan Khairov / 69kg/, Javid Tagiyev / 75kg/ and bronze winner of Sydney Olympiad Vugar Alakbarov reached the quarterfinal. Unfortunately, the rivals beat four Azerbaijani sportsmen.
Thus, Azerbaijan team has 20 licenses for Olympiad 2004, seven of which fall to the share of wrestlers, five - weight lifters, two taekwondists and two boxers, Zemfira Meftahaddinova /skeet shooting / Irada Ashumova / bullet shooting/, Dinara Gimatova /callisthenic/, Sergey Bochkov /track & field athletics/ won on one licenses.
