    AZERBAIJAN TO PRODUCE GRANULATED SUGAR

    The government is going to focus more attention to development of leading branches of non-oil sector by taking extra measures. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, a sugar-refinery will be built and put into operation in 2005 in Imishli, Azerbaijan. This factory with the production capacity of 500 thousand tons per year will employ some 1000 people. The company Azersun is going to invest $60 mln in the construction. Initially, the refinery will import raw sugar from Iran, Turkey, Germany and other countries.
