AZERI MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE MEETS USAID OFFICIAL

Azerbaijan`s Minister of Agriculture Ismat Abbasov met with USAID Assistant Administrator for Europe and Eurasia, Co-Chair of the US-Azerbaijan Economic Cooperation Commission Douglas Menarchik.

Abbasov praised USAID`s implementing projects in his country.

He said President Ilham Aliyev pays great attention to the development of non-oil sector of economy.

Ismat Abbasov pointed to favorable investment environment created in his country.

The Minister stressed the importance of further enhancing bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and USAID.

Douglas Menarchik said a second meeting of the US-Azerbaijan Economic Cooperation Commission will be held in Washington next month.

He stressed there is a possibility that the number of the organization`s experts in Azerbaijan will be increased.

Menarchik said USAID will continue rendering technical assistance to development of agriculture in Azerbaijan.
