Ambassador: Japan keen for new opportunities in South Caucasus”

Japanese ambassador to Georgia Imamura Akira has affirmed his country`s interest in new opportunities in the South Caucasus as he met with his Azerbaijani counterpart Faig Guliyev.
He said Japan was particularly keen for the East-West International Transport Route.
The Azerbaijani ambassador provided an insight into the Armenian military provocation against Azerbaijan over 30 years. He highlighted the new regional situation that emerged after Azerbaijan had restored its territorial integrity, saying this opened up vast opportunities in the region.
Guliyev also hailed Azerbaijan-Japan relations.
Akira noted that the relations between the two countries would contribute to regional development.
They expressed confidence that the new regional realities would give impetus to the development of Azerbaijan-Georgia-Japan cooperation.
