Azerbaijan, Bahrain discuss prospects for cooperation

Azerbaijan`s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Bahraini counterpart Abdullatif bin Rashid al-Zayani on the sidelines of the "8th Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue" in Germany.

During the meeting, the sides hailed the current state of cooperation between the two countries and exchanged views on prospects for the bilateral relations.

The FMs stressed the importance of further deepening cooperation between the two countries in the political, economic, energy and cultural spheres, as well as discussed issues of cooperation within international organizations. In this regard, the support of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the position of Azerbaijan on international platforms, including within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation was highly appreciated.

Minister Bayramov briefed his interlocutor on the post-conflict situation in the region, including the restoration, reconstruction and reintegration work in the liberated areas.

During the meeting, it was also noted that consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kingdom of Bahrain and the continuation of political dialogue between the two countries play an important role in terms of exchanging views on various areas of cooperation and discussing issues on the agenda.

The sides also exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest.
