Azerbaijan, Iran sign protocol to expand cooperation on state border protection

Iranian Border Guard Commander Qasem Rezaee and Chief of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan Elchin Guliyev have signed a protocol on the results of the meetings held and agreements reached between the border troops of Iran and Azerbaijan.

The protocol envisages the expansion of cooperation between the two countries in the field of border protection, facilitation of the movement of citizens through border checkpoints, exchange of information to prevent illegal activities on the state border, including drug trafficking and illegal migration, and other types of cross-border crimes.
