Azerbaijan, Italy hold second round of consular consultations

The Azerbaijani and Italian ministries of foreign affairs have held the second round of consultations at the consular level. Chief of Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan ambassador Faig Bagirov and Head of the Directorate for Italians Abroad of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs ambassador Luigi Vignali chaired the consultations.

Italian ambassador to Azerbaijan Augusto Massarı and members of the Italian delegation, as well as representatives of the ministries of Internal Affairs and Education, State Migration Service and State Border Service of Azerbaijan took part in the meeting.

During the consultations, the parties discussed the current state of cooperation in the consular sphere between the two countries and possibilities of signing new agreements.

Ambassador Faig Bagirov provided an insight into the process of negotiations on settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. He said the dispute must be resolved on the basis of the UN Security Council resolutions within the internationally recognized borders, territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.
