Azerbaijan, Pakistan discuss bilateral relations

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Pakistan Dashgin Shikarov has met the country’s newly elected Deputy Chairman of the Senate Abdul Ghafoor Haideri.
Highlighting the Azerbaijani-Pakistani relations, the diplomat expressed his gratitude to Islamabad for supporting the country on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and not recognizing Armenia as a state.
The Ambassador underlined that Azerbaijani people highly appreciate Senate’s recognizing the Khojaly genocide and its principled position in adopting resolutions on the issue of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity. He as well expressed gratitude to Mr. Haideri for the statement not recognizing the so-called parliamentary elections to be held in the occupied Azerbaijani territories on May 3.
Touching upon the Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain’s March visit to Azerbaijan, the Ambassador noted that meetings as well as signed documents will give impetus to further developing relations between the two countries.
Deputy chairman of the Senate Abdul Ghafoor Haideri hailed the existing relations between the two countries. He said that Pakistan fully supports Azerbaijan on the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and this position will continue until the full liberation of the occupied lands.
The meeting also exchanged views on current events in the region.
