Azerbaijan, Romania discuss opportunities for cooperation

Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov has met with Romanian Minister of Energy Virgil-Daniel Popescu.
Minister Mikayil Jabbarov stressed the successful development of relations with Romania, the importance of mutual visits and meetings in expanding cooperation. He noted that Azerbaijani-Romanian economic and trade partnership is expanding, the trade turnover is increasing as a result of the development of trade relations, which are the main areas of economic partnership.
“However, there are great opportunities for developing cooperation between the two countries in the fields of energy, transport transit and industry,” said the minister.
The minister emphasized the mutually beneficial cooperation between businesses of the two countries and SOCAR’s efficient operation in Romania.
For his part, Minister Virgil Daniel Popescu noted that Romania attaches great importance to cooperation with Azerbaijan and that relations have intensified recently. He shared his views on the prospects for implementing joint economic projects.
The sides discussed various areas of the economy, including strengthening cooperation in the field of energy and other issues of mutual interest.
