Azerbaijan, Turkey discuss military cooperation

Azerbaijan's Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov has met the Chief of the General Staff of the Turkish Republic, Army General Hulusi Akar in Tbilisi to discuss questions of military cooperation.
Stressing the constantly development of cooperation in the field of defense, the sides emphasized the role of military relations based on mutual trust between the two countries in terms of peace and stability in the region, sustainable development, as well as the well-being of the peoples.
The meeting hailed support of Turkey in settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and stressed the importance of development of military cooperation and mutual support to combat terrorism and separatism.
The two also emphasized importance of the role of Armed Forces of both countries in ensuring stability in the South Caucasus, including regional projects.
The meeting discussed prospects of cooperation in military and military-technical fields, stressed the importance of Georgia's involvement in military exercises between the two countries.
