Azerbaijan attends 10th International symposium and equipment Exhibition in Croatia
Baku, May 2 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) Operations Manager Samir Poladov has participated in the 10th international symposium and equipment exhibition in Sibenik, Croatia.
The symposium drew the largest number of participants to date, two hundred of from 36 countries.
In addition to the demonstration of demining machines and demining and detection equipment, the participants had a unique opportunity to see the demonstration of training of honeybees for explosive detection.
Meetings of the TIRAMISU Project, the aim of which is to develop a global set of mine action tools and which involves 26 scientific and research institutions, were aimed at revision of the project work.
On the plenary sessions, speakers presented the latest achievements in mine action, with special emphasis on activities in the last ten years. A Book of Papers containing both papers presented on plenary sessions and those from the 11th IARP HUDEM'2013 Workshop has been prepared and printed
The Symposium ended with a guided tour of Sibenik
With more than 200 participants from 35 countries and with high quality organization and implementation of activities, the Symposium 2013, organized by CROMAC and HCR-CTRO proved to be a major international mine action conference.
