Azerbaijan opens tourism office in Moscow

An official opening of Azerbaijan`s tourism office has been held in Moscow. The event was organized by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Ambassador Polad Bulbuloglu opened the ceremony. He invited Russian tourism operators to establish close ties with Azerbaijani colleagues. He said President Ilham Aliyev attaches great importance to the development of non-oil sector, adding that tourism industry is considered to be one of the priorities in this respect.
Senior official at Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism Vugar Shikhammadov pointed out that Russian tourists account for 30 percent of a total number of visitors coming to Azerbaijan.
Other speakers highlighted tourism opportunities of Azerbaijan, its lovely nature, comfortable hotels and beautiful cuisine.
The audience also received information about the forthcoming events, such as the Formula One 2016 Baku European Grand Prix and the 7th Baku Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations.
Azerbaijan’s Tourism Association, Azerbaijan Airlines and Russia’s Tourism Agencies Alliance, Association of Russian Tourism Operators and Ulyanovsk Tourism Industry Association signed memorandums on cooperation.
