Azerbaijani NGOs issue statement on centenary of 31 March-genocide of Azerbaijanis

“We, the representatives of Azerbaijani NGOs, call the international community to recognize the genocide committed by the Armenians against the Azerbaijanis in the South Caucasus in 1918 and impose tough sanctions on Armenia to liberate the occupied Azerbaijani territories,” says the statement issued by representatives of the non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Azerbaijan on the 100th anniversary of the 31 March, genocide of the Azerbaijanis, as they visited the Guba Genocide Memorial Complex.
The NGO representatives first visited the monument to the national leader Heydar Aliyev in the center of the city of Guba.
They then visited the Guba Genocide Memorial Complex.
After viewing the complex, the NGO representatives read out the statement.
Highlighting the history of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, the statement says that since March 1918, Armenian armed forces have brutally murdered tens of thousands of Azerbaijanis on national and religious grounds, destroying Azerbaijan’s unique historical and cultural monuments, places of worship and cemeteries.
